Camila Levy will speak about Phosphorus availability at the New AG exhibition and Conference in Kenya

Camila Levy, R&D Manager at Tradecorp, will delve into the management of phosphorus in soil during her presentation “Phosphorus Availability and Yield Enhancement: The Use of Good Quality Humic Acids in Tropical Soil” at the New Ag Fair in Kenya, March 21-23. With more than 60 countries scheduled to convene, the New Ag exhibition in Kenya will feature companies from around the world who are looking to exchange, acquire, and consolidate knowledge on the latest agriculture trends.

The effect of humic acids on tropical soils

Phosphorous in soil is a complicated nutrient to manage. As a nutrient with limited availability, one of the main concerns is making Phosphorous more available and useful for plants.

Most of the agricultural problems of acidic soils in tropical areas can be partially solved with the correct application of humic acids in the soil and fertigation systems through products such as Tradecorp’s Humifirst/Humifirst solution. The biostimulant effect of humic acids also enhances the formation and growth of new roots, improving the general uptake of nutrients.

Through her presentation, Levy will focus on different ways to apply high quality humic acids in the soil, its relationship with P (Phosphorus), and its effect in the yield of crops cultivated in tropical soils.

Camila Levy is an agronomist with over 10 years of experience in the Ag sector. She holds two Master’s Degrees, one in Agriculture from the Instituto Agronômico of Campinas-SP in Brazil, and another in Project Management from EAE Business School in Madrid. She currently serves as the Research and Development Agronomical Manager at Tradecorp International, and focuses on working with short and long-term development in global projects and technical developments of fertilizers and biostimulants.
