Delfan Plus is a Free L-α Amino Acid based product that helps protect yield. L-α Amino Acids are critical to plant growth as among other things L-α Amino Acids are responsible for all proteins in plants. Delfan Plus is rich in 17 Amino Acids including Proline which is an Amino Acid known to help plants resist drought.

For example, under drought stress conditions up to 20% of the Amino Acid pool can be converted into Proline, compared to 5% under normal conditions. The Proline is used by the plants to help the plant naturally resist stress. Resisting drought stress and bringing the crop to completion are important in the fight to resist desertification for a number of reasons:

Crop failure increases the effect of wind and drought on soil erosion promoting desertification
Lack of crop growth reduces the return of organic matter to the soil, promoting the breakdown of soil structure enhancing drought effects and increasing risk of desertification
Consistent crop failure especially, in less developed countries, can force farmers off the land – causing it to become abandoned. Abandoned land in a dry climate rapidly accelerates erosion and desertification
